"One of my favorite things about what I do is getting to know my clients so I can help them create a will or trust that simplifies things for their family and avoids unnecessary probate. I want to be a resource for my clients in times of need, but I also want to do everything that I can to prevent their family members and beneficiaries from fighting over how things should be managed in the event of an emergency." -Jason Gray, Attorney/Owner

Wills and Living Trusts
Estate planning is much more than simply preparing a Last Will and Testament. A complete estate planning package should also include a general power of attorney for financial and legal matters if you become incapacitated, a healthcare power of attorney, a living will or advanced healthcare directive, a personal property memorandum, and other ancillary documents. It might also be necessary to set up a revocable trust depending on your estate planning goals. We can help you navigate the complexities of estate planning to ensure that your family will be prepared if something unexpected occurs.
Medicaid Planning
The cost of assisted living and skilled nursing care can be very expensive. Many individuals do not have the income or resources to pay for this type of care when it is needed. However, there are benefits available to certain individuals that can help pay for the cost of care. If you have any questions about Medicaid or Veterans benefits for long-term care, please contact our office to schedule a consultation. We can assist you or your family member in potentially qualifying for these important benefits while protecting as much of your assets as possible through different types of estate planning such as setting up an irrevocable trust.
Probate
If probate is necessary, we are here to help guide your family through every step of the process. Although not every estate requires probate, if the decedent owned real property or had assets worth more than $100,000 you may be required to open a probate case with the court. This process can be daunting, but having an attorney help you prepare the necessary documents for opening and closing probate can alleviate that burden. Probate may seem like it should be a straightforward process, but even for a basic estate there are numerous steps that need to be taken to appoint the personal representative, notify beneficiaries and creditors, and complete the estate inventory and final accounting.
